HOW TO MAKE A RED VELVET CAKE

RED VELVET CAKE

A rich chocolate flavoured sponge cake with a distinctive reddish colour, typically with layers of buttercream icing. It originated in the Victorian era, where it was served as a desert. It is very tasty and mouthwatering.
Ingredients

250 grams of butter
1 cup of sugar
2 1/2 cup of flour
5 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
3 drops of red food colouring
Directions

-Add your butter and sugar into a mixing bowl, stir in one direction until the mixture is fluffy and whitish.
-Break your eggs into a separate bowl and whisk,add your whisked egg into the batter(butter and sugar).
-Sieve the flour, add your baking powder and cocoa powder into the flour and mix into the batter.
-Add your red food colouring and your vanilla essence.
Tips for baking 

 Grease your pan with butter,powder it with a little flour and pour your complete mixture of batter into the pan and bake for about 30 minutes in the oven.
Frosting /Icing (Butter icing) 

500 grams of icing sugar
250 grams of butter
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
Direction

-Mix all ingredients into a bowl and mix until mixture becomes light and fluffy.
-Using a piping tube, cover the cake with the butter icing. Be very creative with the decoration of the cake to make a cake appealing to the eye.
